Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) would like to thank you for filing out and submitting the survey regarding the types of services and supports to meet current and future needs of individuals and their families in the community.
The information gathered in this survey will be considered for new program development as part of the Community Resource Development Plan (CRDP). The goal of the CRDP is to expand the availability, accessibility, and types of services and supports to meet current and future needs of individuals and their families in the community. Limited funding from the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) will be available for program development.
Based on the information gathered from the surveys, mental health services, specialized residential provider, day services and affordable housing were identified as priorities. RCEB will prioritize requesting start-up funding to DDS for the following services:
- A service provider for a mental health clinic that can provide counseling and psychiatric services to RCEB clients who are adults and children.
- A service provider to implement a roommate matching service for individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and that are interested in living independently or in a supported living situation.
- A service provider willing to establish short-term (3–5 day) emergency shelter that will provide safe, accessible, and immediate sheltering options for RCEB clients displaced during disasters whose severe medical needs might affect their ability to be served in traditional congregate shelter situations.
- A service provider to operate a Level 7 facility to serve 4 children who may have severe behaviors.
- A housing development organization to develop multifamily affordable housing apartments to adult clients of RCEB.
Per Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act, Section 4679 ( c), RCEB is seeking public feedback in regards to proposed plan through 5:00 PM on September 17, 2025. Feedback may be submitted via email to: jnagafuji@rceb.org or via voicemail at 510-678-1128.
RCEB intends to submit the Community Resource Development Plan request to DDS by September 18, 2025.
