Recently, a document that claims to be a study about RCEB was shared on the internet. Some of you may have questions. So, we want to help answer them.
RCEB cares deeply about fairness and respect for everyone — the same values and reasons that led our Board and former director to hire a consultant almost six years ago to evaluate claims that RCEB’s practices were not fair. The study was deeply flawed because there were problems with the way information was collected and the consultant’s lack of knowledge about how RCEB is required to operate according to California laws. Because of this, RCEB was not able to use the study.
At the same time, we take concerns about equity very seriously. That is why over the past few years, RCEB has made many important changes to ensure access and fairness for everyone we serve. This includes the people who get services and those who provide them. Some of these improvements include:
- Starting a new Department of Equity and Engagement
- Speeding up payments for vendors and providers
- Offering more training and support for providers, partners, and families
- Holding community meetings and listening sessions
- Creating materials to help people better understand and use RCEB services
RCEB is committed to fairness, respect, and opportunity for everyone we serve. We will keep working hard to earn the trust of our community.
We’ll continue to share updates about our progress on our website, in newsletters, and at community meetings.
