We are excited to share that Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) clients have moved into their new homes at Crescent Grove in Castro Valley! This affordable housing community, developed by Eden Housing, features 72 affordable apartment homes for individuals and families, with some units reserved for RCEB clients.

Crescent Grove is located near grocery stores, restaurants, parks, and many transit options. The community offers a variety of amenities for residents, including a community room, community gardens, a residential courtyard with play areas, EV charging stations, laundry facilities, and onsite property management and resident services.

Construction was completed in late December 2024, and residents began moving into their homes at the start of the New Year. A Grand Opening Ceremony is planned for late summer 2025!

Ten (10) of the units at Crescent Grove (2 studios, 5 one-bedroom apartments, and 3 two-bedroom apartments) are reserved specifically for RCEB clients. These units are supported by Project-Based Mainstream Housing Vouchers, making these homes deeply affordable.

One RCEB family shared, “We love the place, and Ashante (RCEB client) does too. We are very grateful for the opportunity, and the stability it has provided is so greatly appreciated.” The sense of stability and joy this community brings to RCEB clients and their families is truly heartwarming.

Crescent Grove is just one of the affordable housing projects supported by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) through RCEB’s Community Resource Development Plan (CRDP) funding. We extend our sincere thanks to Eden Housing for their hard work and dedication in making this community a reality! We also thank their many project partners who made this development possible, including: the National Equity Fund, Silicon Valley Bank, The County of Alameda, California Department of Housing and Community Development (No Place Like Home Program and Federal Housing Trust Fund Program via the Housing for a Healthy California Program), and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco.
