Thank you for building the Master Plan for Developmental Services: A Community-Driven Vision
Dear Community,
Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) announced the release of the Master Plan for Developmental Services: A Community-Driven Vision (Plan). You can read the full Plan and watch a short overview presentation on the CalHHS website.
The Plan would not have been possible without the tireless work of our diverse communities across the State over the last year. Thank you to every individual, family member, advocate, and community partner who shared their time, stories, and efforts to create the more than 170 recommendations. Because of that work, the Plan is comprehensive and reflects what the community wants and needs for the future of services and supports for Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
This is just the beginning of our work together. The Plan’s recommendations inform current and future initiatives, which will continue to need the voices of the community. The Department of Developmental Services (Department) will provide updates on the Plan’s implementation progress and feedback opportunities, with discussions focused by topic on employment initiatives, Autism, rate reform, early intervention, and more. Subscribe to the Department’s newsletter and bookmark the events webpage to stay informed and join conversations as they become available.
We look forward to your continued collaboration to best support Californians with disabilities to live the lives they choose.
